SEAI offers a grant towards home chargers. The application has to be approved before the work starts, so tell us early if you plan to claim it.
What is included
We look at your fuse board, main fuse and earthing to confirm the supply can take a charger, and tell you if anything needs upgrading first.
We can supply a charger or fit one you have chosen, provided it is suitable. For the SEAI grant it must be on their register of smart chargers.
A new circuit from the board with its own protection, cabled neatly to the charger position.
Where needed, a device that turns the charger down when the house is using a lot of power, so the main fuse is never overloaded.
Full testing and a Safe Electric completion certificate, which you need for the grant and for your records.
The app set up on your phone, schedules explained, and a first charge started before we leave.
Process
Your fuse board, the electricity meter, and where you would like the charger. That is usually enough to price a standard install.
You get a written price. If you are applying for the SEAI grant, do that now and wait for your letter of offer.
Most home installs are completed in one visit. The power is off for a short period while we connect the new circuit.
You receive the completion certificate and the details SEAI asks for to pay the grant.
Pricing
A standard install assumes the charger is close to the fuse board and the board has space for a new circuit. You get a fixed price after we see your photos.
